About Glen Maye

Glen Maye is a spectacular bridged gorge and waterfall in the Isle of Man, located just three miles south of Peel. The site stretches eleven and a half acres and there's plenty of photo opportunities and walks to be had.

The waterfall is sheltered and in a fern-filled woodland and includes some relics of the ancient forests that once covered the area. The site lies on either side of the Rushe River and there's plenty of different rees like ash, sycamore and elm, so see what ones you can spot!

There's a huge diversity of ferns too and in the lower paddock there is a Mona-Erin wheelchase, which is the only real evidence left of the mining that took place in the area between 1740 and 1870.

If you walk further down you'll come to a pebbled beach. You'll be greeted by the towering cliffs and they're home to lots of wildlife like seabirds and hawks. The site can be reached by the coastal footpath Raad ny Foillan from Peel or Port Erin.

The site is a must visit if you're in the area and a view that you will not forget in a hurry!
