Yellowknife is a fascinating city in NWT, with amazing views, amazing culture, and great history! The Legistlative Assembly Building is where kids can learn about history, and architecture, and experience one of the most important buildings in NWT.
The building is one of the most unique legislatures in the country, as it highlights the consensus stle of government, as well as the traditional values of the people that live in NWT - so it's a very important experience culturally!
It's a place more suited for the older kids, so they can really take in what is so important about the Legislative Assembly Building.
Over summer, they offer FREE guided yours, and the rest of the year they have daily guided tours, so it's the perfect way to hear all about the stories of the building.

The guided tours run 10:30am weekdays from Sept 1 to May 31, and 10:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm weekdays, and 1:30pm Sundays from June 1 to Aug 31.
There is a cafe where you can pick up lunch, snacks and drinks!
If you have over 10 students, you can book a group tour, so just give them a call!
The tours and building are fully wheelchair-accessible.
