About Mossman Gorge

Why spend the day in front of the computer when you can get out into the incredible rain forests of Australia!

Mossman Gorge is a stunning rainforest that is part of the famous Daintree Rainforest National Park.

Kids will love exploring the trees, rivers, streams and mountains, as well as learning about the Indigenous history that is so strong in the area.

Start your experience at the Mossman Gorge Centre, where you will find all the information you need for your nature filled day you. The lovely staff can help you organise your adventures, as well as helping with your route through the gorge. You can also book your Dreamtime Walk there!

There are ton of fun and adventurous activities in the gorge! You can enjoy a self-guided adventure through the gorge, taking your time and really enjoying everything to see on those walking tracks. Why not enjoy a lovely picnic lunch at one of the many swimming holes? Kids, why not SWIM in those swimming holes! You know you will want to cool down on those hot summer days! (Don't forget a change of clothes!)  Be careful though, and check the water strength before getting in.

The Dreamtime Walks are a must do for any family interested in history and culture. Take a journey on private tracks and visit very special places to those who have lived in the region for thousands of years. Be part of the "smoking" ceremony, and visit traditional huts. Every thought you could make bush soap? After this trip we bet you will be the only kid in your class that can! These tours are 90 minutes and depart 5 times a day.

Mossman Gorge is in an area of ancient tropical rainforest, so make sure you take precautions with the weather. Most of the rain falls December to April, but the humidity will still be high. Visiting in wet season can also be fun and introduce you to a whole new experience!
