About this activity

Who's ready to learn! Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds! Kids - when you visit a museum like the McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture, you will walk around the very cool exhibits and not even realize you're learning!

The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture is located on the campus of the University of Tennessee (a great way for kids to see how fun university is, too, so they look forward to going when they're older!)

There are permanent exhibits, as well as specials which are rotating. Just means there is something new on your next visit! The permanent exhibitions look into the development of humans, as well as cultures from around the world. Want to know what the Ancient Egyptians were like, and how they lived? Maybe it's more dinosaurs you are interested in!

The museum is great for local knowledge too, with exhibits on the geology and cultural history of Tennessee itself!

The American Civil War is just waiting for kids to learn about the history through artifacts from local digs, as well as amazing photos and videos.

Special events cover a range of topics, from birds, bugs, flora and even Roman life! But they keep changing, so keep checking!

The museum also has fun events across the year, including family fun days! You might even come across a fun dinosaur event, or maybe some Greek history….all sorts of fun and fascinating topics to learn about!

A very fun and educational day out for the whole family!
