Kids can see the artifacts and exhibits, and imagine just what life might have been like all those years ago!
They can travel through time to meet the 10 generations of Loudoun County residents that built that built up the area and left their mark on the land, or they might want to be a farmer for the day!
The interactive farmyard exhibit is a favourite with children, where they can milk a fairly convincing cow, collect play eggs from hen toys and ride the hobby horses.
Waxpool General Store has been preserved as a time capsule of days gone by, and the whole family can tour the store and even play shopkeeper or shopper!
Grandma's Kitchen offers an interactive exhibit on farm kitchens in the decade before WWI, and kids can even check out the one-room school house JUST like one you would find in 1909! Kids, how do you think education in Virginia has changed over the years?
There are exhibits on what life was like for Loudoun's first inhabitants, and even a place where kids can learn to groom horses!
Other programmes and activities are on offer here, as well as regular events. Parents, you get to enjoy time to yourselves during Kid's Night at the Museum where those little ones aged 3 to 10 years can be dropped off for dinner, dessert, and educational playtime over 3 hours whilst you go out!
