When your parents say "Get your skates on", they might not mean "Hurry Up!" - they might mean "Kids, we're going to Lloyd Center Ice Rink"!
Skating is such as great family activity. Not only is it great for the kids balance and coordination, but it's also great to keep them healthy and active.
Lloyd Center Ice Rink is located in the heart of the Lloyd Center Mall in Portland, Oregon. It's a family day out activity that really can be for everyone - no matter what age or experience level.
The public skate sessions are a great way to just get on the ice, and either get to grips with staying up on the ice, or showing off those cool tricks that you can already do! Kids, don't worry if you haven't been on the ice much before - you won't be the only one! There is always the railing, which you can hold on to, and the most important thing is that you can go at your own pace.
The sessions are always a couple of hours, so there is plenty of time to get used to it. If you go during the weekdays, you get to skate all day! Plenty of time!
If you want to try something cool and unique on the ice, Lloyd Center Ice Rink have special theme nights, which are always great fun. If you're allowed to stay up a little later, Fridays are Rock n Skate nights, and Saturdays have evening sessions.
If any of the family do want to learn some basics before those public sessions, or perhaps you are pretty skilled and want to learn new techniques, then the center offer lessons too. They offer group lessons, or special skate schools.
If you're REALLY good at skating, they offer 45 minute freestyle skating sessions for those advanced competitive skaters!
