About this activity

If you had to guess where the WORLD's second largest aquarium was, where would you guess? If you said Georgia, you'd be right!

Georgia Aquarium is just HUGE, and you might feel you are actually exploring the entire oceans when you visit! There are ten million gallons of fresh and marine water, which is home to over 100,000 animals, and these represent over 500 species from all over the world!

If you have kids who want to delve into what makes our waters so special, without having to get wet, then Georgia Aquarium is the place to be!

The aquarium is filled with a host of fascinating exhibits, each tell a different story from our oceans, lakes and seas - so let's explore!

Aquanaut Adventure let's kids explore a fun discovery zone, where they can journey through the upper levels as they complete a series of educational challenges. If they complete it, they can become a certified Georgia Aquarium Aquanaut. Pretty cool!

Have you ever seen a whale shark in person? These are the gentle giants of the deep, and are pretty incredible to look at! The Ocean Voyager gallery not only has FOUR of these amazing creatures, but also manta rays, and thousands of other beautiful fish, making it one of the single largest aquatic exhibits in the entire world.

Kids can see those playful sea lions in their elements in the SunTrust Pier 225, where they can watch their behaviors, and learn all about these popular marine animals, and with the River Scout exhibit, kids can learn about the diverse animals found in the rivers of Africa, Asia, South America, and even locally in Georgia.

With gorgous dolphins, stunning coral reefs, behind the scenes tours, sleeping under the sea experiences, and even Toddler Time sessions, these are just some of the other amazing things to experience at Georgia Aquarium.

So kids, what are you waiting for, there is a whole ocean ready to be explored!
