Ridiculous prices where you need to pay extra to climb the lighthouse. Very little information on the history (~3 rooms with pictures and reading) – Most historic furniture and appliances to the house are removed from these rooms. Serious staff, didn’t feel welcome. Overall, little to offer, not recommended.

The best word to explain this place is “AWESOME”. We had lots of fun and clicked pictures inside a small museum inside the Light House building… Perfect place to satisfy your hunger for the history of Baileys Harbor…

We loved it! There’s not much to see on the “ground” floor, but it’s totally worth walking up the 97 steps to get to the top of the light house. The staff was very friendly and informative. Beautiful surroundings also allow for some roaming and great pic opportunities. We heard that sometimes you have to wade through the water to get to it, but when we were there (early October) thankfully it was nice and dry.

I was really disappointed with this lighthouse. They charge a large amount of money once you add in the cost to get in the building and the extra cost to go up the tower. The keeper’s house had a few displays, but most of the rooms were taken up with the giftshop, a small video screen and photos on the wall. The kids were asking about the rooms and who lived where and what they did, and there was no way to find that out from the displays. The workers were also not incredibly kid friendly, including one who told us our youngest was tall enough to go up the tower, and then the next one telling him he couldn’t. I understand the hight restrictions, but a straight story would be nice. Don’t listen to all the hype about this lighthouse-go to Eagle Bluff in Peninsula park instead-much more impressive.

We didn’t make it before they closed so we walked the grounds which was fun. There are enough paths to the beach to look around and it is a well kept area.
