Nature is an AMAZING thing! So to have a family day out surrounded by it would be pretty cool! That's where the Botanical Conservatory comes in!

This nature filled Fort Wayne attraction is an oasis right in the heart of downtown. There are gardens to explore, exhibits to learn from, and even family events!

As you wander around the Showcase Gardens, have a look at the lush seasonal displays, and the bright colors! The Topical Garden is where you can find the palms and orchids thriving.

There is even a very pretty cascading waterfall! If you want some quiet, then the Desert Garden might be for you!

These three indoor gardens cover 25,000 square feet with over 1,200 plants - and even 72 types of cacti!

Of course, if it's sunny you would want to explore outside wouldn't you! Then head on outdoors for four gardens with a range of themes. From the scenic vistas and shaded pathways of the Exploration Garden, to the brick features of the Terrace Garden, to the strange acid-loving plants of the Beverforden Garden!

It really is a great way to enjoy a peaceful family day out. 

Across the year, the Botanical Conservatory have some pretty cool exhibits too which are great for the kids to learn from. Ranging from butterfly exhibits, to showcasing the gardens of the Ancient Egyptians - you'll be surprised what you will come away from knowing!

Think Fort Wayne is just city? Think again! When you step into the oasis of the Botanical Conservatory you will have a whole different viewpoint!

The conservatory really want to educate those who visit on the environment and our flora. They also promote and support conservation.

Any top tips when visiting?

With paid admission, parking in the Civic Center Garage is free!

Does Botanical Conservatory have a gift shop?

There is a lovely gift shop with a whole range of garden ornaments, plants, and other fun nature related items to take home!

Teachers corner

They offer group tours so why not bring the students! Tours last around an hour, then you have leisure time, AND you get a discount! Too cool!

Any additonal information?

On the 4th Saturday of every month they have Family Garden Close UP which is great for those younger learners!
