Bernwood Butterfly Trail is set in the stunning Bernwood Forest and you'll be able to walk for miles and miles and just see the local butterflies! It's located on the outskirts of Oxford and you'll delve into the historic past.
The forest was once part of The Royal Hunting Forest and received royal protections for over 700 years! The Bernwood Jubilee Way also runs through a section of the woods too.
The forest contains around forty species of butterflies making it one of the most important habitats in Britain. You can take the waymarked butterfly trail for a peaceful walk and see what you can spot!
Walking is the perfect way to get some fresh air too! Run, walk or cycle through the trees, play hide and seek and look out for the local wildlife!
The trail will start from the car park and you'l be lead through the forest, glades and rides.
There's also plenty of opportunities to stop for a picnic too, so remember to bring some snacks and refreshments with you.
Bernwood Forest is situated east of Oxford between Stanton St. John and Oakley.
