What is there to do?

The Historic Gardens is a 17 acre horticultural paradise located in historic Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. Historically themed areas of the Gardens tell the story of Nova Scotian settlement from an agricultural and horticultural perspective.

Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and visit the gardens for an escape and peaceful trip within nature. The gardens overlook the tidal river valley and represent more than 400 years of local history. The rose collections boasts hundreds of fragrant and colourful blossoms and the innovative garden showcases methods and plant materials suitable for today's urban garden. The reconstructed Acadian House is based on the pre-deportation 1671 time period, so there's lots of history to learn about too whlst you visit.

It's been in operation since 1981 and is well established at providing the best service and quality gardens to enjoy. There are also lots of events and activities that run throughout the year so make sure to keep an eye on the website!
