About Hershey Gardens

Welcome to Hershey Gardens, a lush oasis sprawling across 23 acres where nature comes alive with vibrant colors and delightful fragrances. Families visiting this enchanting destination will find themselves transported into a world of beauty and wonder, perfect for a day out with the kids.

Originally established in 1937 as a modest 3.5-acre rose garden, Hershey Gardens has blossomed into a captivating landscape featuring 11 themed gardens. The Children's Garden is a particular favorite among young visitors, designed to ignite their curiosity and imagination. This whimsical area invites children to explore pathways surrounded by playful sculptures and interactive displays.

One of the most magical experiences at Hershey Gardens is the Butterfly Atrium. As one of only 25 indoor, tropical butterfly atriums in the United States, it offers a rare opportunity to walk among hundreds of exotic butterflies from regions as far-flung as South and Central America, Africa, and Asia. This tropical paradise is a feast for the senses, with colorful plants and calming water features enhancing the experience.

The Welcome Pavilion greets you with its magnificent palm trees and an impressive display of stained glass butterflies. It's the perfect starting point for your journey through the gardens. Don't miss the Hershey’s Kisses-shaped misters in the Children's Garden; they're a delightful way to cool down on a warm day as you wander through the 32 themed gardens.

With its combination of natural beauty, educational opportunities, and family-friendly activities, Hershey Gardens is an ideal day out for those seeking to explore the wonders of nature. Whether you're visiting for the stunning horticulture or the engaging children's activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
