About this activity

Welcome to the wonderful world of chess!

At the World Chess Hall Of Fame you can find world-class exhibitions that explore the connection of chess to art, culture, and history. Kids love chess? This is the place to be!

The World Chess Hall of Fame features a host of exhibitions that you can visit, each telling fascinating stories, and giving kids a learning experience with a difference. It's also a day out surrounded by inspiring history - which we love!

The exhibitions at this interesting museum change throughout the year, so there is always something new that you can go back to see.  Kids might see unique and amazing chess sets, or the history of the chess piece design.

Of course, it's a hall of fame too, so you can learn all about those great chess players from the years gone by. You never know, the kids might go away feeling very inspired!

In addition, the World Chess Hall of Fame hosts a number of exhibition-related programs for adults and kids, so they can be more engaged with hands-on activities that are all inspired by the objects throughout the galleries.

The museum holds family days every Saturday that offer kid friendly tours of the exhibits, as well as giving them an art related project or activity, and there are also Toddler Tuesdays for those younger ones in the family.

Who knew chess could be so exciting! A fascinating family day out with a difference at this Missouri attraction.
