What is there to do?

The Woods Hole Science Aquarium is a small public aquarium that displays about 140 species of marine animals found in Northeast and Middle-Atlantic U.S. waters. It's also the place where kids and the family can visit to learn all about these amazing creatures through the exhibits!

The aquarium is designed for self-guided tours of the main exhibits and a behind-the-scenes look at aquarium operations, so you can just take your time and enjoy your day out exploring your magical underwater experience!

All of the exhibits showcase something new and amazing, including lobster, sea urchins, toadfish and more!

Woods Hole Science Aquarium also have display cases with bones and teeth of various marine creatures, as well as a work area behind the tanks that is open to the public. Here, you can can talk to the staff as they prepare fish food, feed animals, and clean tanks! So kids, make sure you have your questions ready!

Kids especially love the "touch tank," where they can reach into tide pools filled with starfish and sea cucumbers.

The only outdoor exhibit is the seal habitat that includes an enclosed 17,000 gallon pool. This is the permanent home for seals who are unable to live in the wild, and if you're lucky you might see a feeding session too!

A day of exploration in Massachusetts, where the wonders of the ocean come to you!
