The Center for Earth And Space Science Education is a dynamic public science education facility, that offers amazing educational and entertainment programming to encourage an interest in, and support for, science education!

How fun!

During your time at this amazing center, the family can enjoy various hands-on science exhibits in the exhibit hall, that rotate so you can always have something to go back to. Also at the center is a chance to enjoy large-screen movies in the 40-foot domed theater that allow you to take a real time space flight in the simulator!

Have you ever wanted to watch the real time NASA feed and see planetarium style lessons? You can here!

In fact, the center is home to the very first 40’ Spitz nano-seam domed theatre in East Texas! This state-of-the-art Planetarium features an immersive, full-dome video experience. 

Your day isn't just indoors though. Also at the The Center for Earth And Space Science Education are plenty of outdoor attractions include a moon phase map, a map of the stars, a sundial and the Lunch and Learn Courtyard.

So get ready to explore the wonders of our Earth, Space and beyond at this fun and educational Texas experience.

From US-69 and Interstate 20, travel south on US 69 to Tyler, 8.6 miles, continue as it becomes W. Gentry Pky, 1.5 miles.Turn slight right onto US-271/N Beckham Ave/TX-155. Continue to follow N. Beckham Ave/TX-155, 1.7 miles.
Turn left onto Lake St., .03. Center is at the corner of Lake St. and Mahon Ave.Public parking at right.

From US-69 and South Loop 323 in Tyler, travel north on US-69/N/S Broadway Ave. to TX-155 N/TX-64E/TX-110E/E 5th St., and turn right, 1.9 miles.
Travel east on TX-155 N/TX-64E/TX-110E/E 5th St. 1.1 miles to Baxter Ave. and turn left at College Books store.
Travel to Lake St., .02 mi, turn right.
Center is at corner of Lake St. and Mahon Ave.Public parking at right.

The Center for Earth And Space Science Education FAQ’s

Make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled show time. No late entries will be permitted once the show has begun. No exceptions.

The Center is open to school groups, Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and to the public 3-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 1-8 p.m. Saturdays and 2-7 p.m. Sundays.

Make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled show time. No late entries will be permitted once the show has begun. No exceptions.

Special programming and resources are available for Texas school teachers and groups. Check the Center website for details.

Elevator and handicap access restroom facilities are available. Wheelchair seating in dome theatre also available.Handicap access restroom facilities are available.
