What is there to do?

Sunset Zoo, located in Manhattan, KS, is opened 360 days a year and is home to over 250 animal species to observe in naturalistic habitats with information boards posted to get the most education from it too.

During summer you can drop in on keeper chats, conservation talks and feedings including chimpanzee, sloth bear and otter.

Brand new to the facility is their unusually constructed Rain Garden: a landscaped showcase of native vegetation from the wet Flint Hills region.

Free Under: 2 years.


Need a little extra help?

The Zoo is wheelchair accessible, however inclines near the gibbon and tiger exhibits are steep. They are happy to offer golf cart tours of these areas to guests with two-weeks advance notice.
