What is there to do?

There are over 80 acres ready and waiting for those nature loving kids and their families at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.

This fun family day out destination is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of art and popular culture, as well as the agricultural sciences, as well as history!

It also offers a host of family activities that inspire creativity, encourage self-discovery and allow kids to learn and appreciate nature!

There are ongoing events and exhibitions that change throughout the year so there is always something that you can go back to!

You might be learning about Fall Farm to Table foods, or kids can enjoy Slime Time science fun! You might be learning of the reptiles of Connecticut, or joining one of the outdoor adventure tours held.

The museum feature exhibits focused on the natural world, and are designed to be interactive, and also frequently include hands-on elements aimed specifically at kids!

It's all about nature, so of course there are animals to say hello to! The Heckscher Farm features adorable barnyard animals for the kids to play with and meet, before they can head out onto the nature trails at the Overbook Nature Center!

Here, they are not only live animals from an interactive exhibit area, and beautiful walking trails that wind through those 80 acres of forest and wildlife.

Let's not forget about the Stamford Observatory too! Here the family can enjoy viewing the moon and other deep space objects, and hear all about the wonders of the Universe!
