About ShangriLlama

ShangriLlama is a light-hearted animal adventure company featuring llamas. We are located at a castle-themed private, 10-acre estate in Royse City, Texas, which is just 40 minutes east of Dallas.

During the hot and humid months of the year, which are May through October, ShangriLlama offers Llama Llessons inside the air-conditioned castle barn. There you will find seven llamas roaming around the barn without a harness or a leash! They will be interacting with one another, stealing each other's food, looking at their beautiful selves in the mirror, performing a couple tricks, and eating treats provided by the two llama wranglers. Meanwhile, these wranglers will teach 150 facts about llamas using props, video monitors--and live llamas! Guests are most welcome to take photos throughout their Llama Llessons. Tickets cost $20 per person, and the minimum age to attend is 4 years old. ShangriLlama has been offering Llama Llessons since 2009 to teach what makes llamas so remarkably different than other animals.

During the cooler months of the year, which are November through April, ShangriLlama offers Llama Walks on its Enchanted Forest Castle Trail. Guests walk each llama in the pack during this 2.5-hour animal encounter. Guests walk in groups of two to three people per llama to protect these delicate animals from stealing plants off the trail. (Llamas are sneaky!) Llama Walks begin inside the castle barn, where three llama wranglers teach how to care for the animals during the adventure. Then guests groom the llamas and set out for the trail head. Along the way, Llama Llady teaches interesting facts about llamas during Trail Talks. The group will stop for photos at various castle statues and in front of the replica Irish castle. Llama Walks cost $50 per person, and are offered for ages 10 and up. Up to two minors must be accompanied by an adult ticket-holder. Llama Walks tend to sell out of tickets two to three months in advance, so please book your special date as early as possible.
