I got married here. It was the most wonderful day of my life. Most beautiful sunsets.

You don’t need to be a sand wizard to maximize the benefits of this beautiful beach. Volleyball, surfing, kite flying, sand sculpting…you name it, humanity is here enjoying life to its fullest. Lifeguards stationed strategically looking out for ocean goers. Welcome to paradise.

Hire some bikes while you are here. You’ll get some great exercise and see much more of this amazing beach. We spent over 30 minutes cycling before turning back for our return route. The cycle paths make it easy and there are several bars you can stop off along the way if you need a pit stop for refreshments. I’d also recommend sticking around to watch the sun set over the pacific ocean – the view is spectacular.

Santa Monica Beach is my home beach. I love the view of the Santa Monica Mountains, the sunsets, the sand under my feet, and everything else about it. (Disclaimer; this is not an endorsement of any medical procedure or treatment.) I had some swelling in my feet, but when I walk on the North Sands (north of the pier) inside thirty minutes every ounce of swelling went away. Southern California has very nice beaches but this one is my favorite one. It is so calm and peaceful and to be quite honest with you I don’t want to go anywhere else. It is close to the pier, shopping, and dining, and yes it is close to a nice little amusement park as well. I love feeling her sands, and smelling the fresh salt air, so sweet and serine.

A beautiful, big beach, mostly clean and with all the necessary amenities. In the summer, people hawk beach umbrellas and slices of fruit. The vast stretch of sand makes every journey inland feel almost like a struggle across the Sahara, but it’s an excellent spot for beach volleyball or if you fancy doing some sand running. Watch out for the waves, which aren’t big enough for surfing, but strong enough to potentially cause wardrobe malfunctions.
