About River Riders

West Virginia is an INCREDIBLE place to get out into the outdoors, and for those active families, River Riders gives you so many options to choose from, you might have to stay for a whole week!

They are only one hour from DC/Baltimore, so you don't have to travel far to get into an adventurers paradise.

The area is famous for white water rafting, and on the Shenandoah or Potomac you can take a guided or self-guided tours on the rivers, and there are different levels to suit your experience. You can really make a day of it and spend up to 5 hours out on the water!

Get high up into the trees with their canopy tours, and for 2-3 hours you can fly along 8 zip-lines almost 800 feet in length! With suspension bridges and climbs, you will really be challenged - but it will be worth it!

There are a number of tubing tours that you can do with River Riders, both guided and self0guided, again with a series of classes of difficulty, or perhaps you want to canoeing, or stand-up paddle-boarding (that takes some balance skills - we know you can do it!)

Kayaking proves a bit more of a challenge as you are back into the white water territory, or you can get onto dry land and grab your mountain bikes and head out through the trails along the rivers.

Maybe you will be lucky and spot some amazing wildlife!

River Riders also have fishing, rock climbing, and of course fun summer camps where if you haven't had enough adventure - you can go back for more!

A great adventurous option for the active family, in some of the most beautiful wilderness in the country!
