About Ricketts Glen State Park

Free flowing waterfalls through rock-strewn clefts in an ancient hillside are the highlight of Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania, and they are certainly worth the adventure!

Ricketts Glen State Park allows you to hike the Falls Trail System, where you can explore the glens. It's here you will find those beautiful waterfalls, with the highest of the 22 that have names being the 94ft Ganoga Falls. Amazing!

Wildlife will surround you during your state park adventure, and it's also one of the most scenic areas in the entire state comprising of over 13,000 acres.

There are a host of activities to enjoy during your time at Ricketts Glen State Park too, so it's so much more than just those incredible waterfalls.

Those active families will love the 26 miles of trails, from easy to very steep. Each trail is marked and has it's own difficulty rating so you can easily gauge what is best for your family before you start.

If you love horses, there is a 12.5 mile loop trails for you with amazing sights along the way, including the old railroad grades and lakes. You must have your own horse as you can't rent them in the park.

Lake Jean is 245 acres of fishing opportunities for those who love to just relax with their rod and enjoy nature at it's very best, or you can take out your boar into the lake too. During summer you can rent them. 

The seasonal beach too is great fun for kids to enjoy swimming! There is also 600ft of beach front where kids can play in the sun and have a great time!

Don't let the seasons put you off either, because Ricketts Glen State Park has cross country skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling in those colder months.

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Ricketts Glen State Park?

From Memorial Day to Labor Day you can enjoy the concessions in the Beach Area. There is candy, snack food and hot sandwiches.

Any top tips when visiting?

If you want to extend your stay, there is camping and cabins available! Some are seasonal so check the times before you book

Does Ricketts Glen State Park have healthy eating or Vegan options?

It's always a good idea to take healthy snacks and bottled water during your state park adventures.
