Oglebay Good Zoo

Located within the Oglebay Resort, Oglebay Good Zoo is home to over 50 species that you can meet face to face, learn about, observe, and be inspired by!

In fact, 20 of those species are rare or endangered, so kids can really learn invaluable lessons at this WILD West Virginia family day out!

The Oglebay Good Zoo has both indoor and outdoor exhibits that you can explore. Indoor exhibits include the hands-on Discovery Lab, where you’ll observe adorable animals such as tamarin monkeys, a sloth, rare amphibians and reptiles, including our albino alligator.

Kids can travel to Africa and Asia as they observe animals including a cheetah, lemurs, red pandas, and river otters. Of course, North America has some pretty incredible creatures too - just visit their Wonders of the Wetlands exhibit to see a bald eagle and various other plants and animals that call these fragile areas home.

Choo Choo - what's that? Did you think a zoo is JUST animals? Think again! The Model Train Railroad is a 1,200 sq ft train exhibition that depicts mountainous topography, a working river and caboose - amazing attention to detail!

Don't forget to check up on the animal encounters you can enjoy at the zoo, where kids can REALLY learn about the animals! They can help the keepers feed various species, or train them too!
