About this activity

Did you know that the Milwaukee County Zoo has over 2,200 amazing creatures for you to spend the day with? That's pretty amazing! They are made up from over 300 species, so kids will be coming away from your day out with a LOT of knowledge about these very cool creatures we have on our planet!

Milwaukee County Zoo has animals from ALL over the world - so there's a good chance that you will come across a creature you haven't even heard of before!

The Aquatic and Reptile Center has a HUGE collection of amphibians, fish and reptiles, and you can get right up close to their very big Pacific Coast Marine Aquarium so you really will be face to face!

If you have some little bird lovers in the family, then the aviary is where you should be headed! A range of beautiful and colorful birds all fly together in a fascinating walk-through exhibit which houses everything from hornbills to herons - even those cheeky penguins and those loud woodpeckers!

Head Down Under for those unique Australian marsupials. (Do you know what a marsupial is, kids? Well, a great reason to visit the zoo is because you can find out!) From kangaroos, to emus, and wallabies - make sure you look out for those baby kangaroos too. They're called Joeys and they are super cute!

From Australia to Africa, you can use your imagination that you are on the African savanna, before heading into the South American jungle. Different habitats from Asia, Africa and South America are all featured, with creatures like the hippo, black bear, giraffe, elephant, and event camels.

What's sweet about Milwaukee County Zoo is that there are also domestic farm animals - from the sweet honeybee to the screech owl. Even the domestic animals are fun to learn about!

Don't forget to check out the special events at the zoo, which are fun for the whole family!

Let's go!
