With the Klondike Gold Fields, the whole family can experience this amazing part of the country! Kids can immerse themselves in, and learn all about, the fascinating history of the Klondike Gold Rush.
Transport yourselves back to the 1890s, at a time when everyone wanted to strike it rich (and some really did!) You will be welcome by the very fun costumed staff, who will entertain you during your entire experience at the Klondike Gold Fields.
The site has everything you would want to experience in relation to this amazing period in US history. You can meet the dog team and watch them demonstrate the very awesome sled run. You can even interact with the dogs and hold the puppies - make sure you have your camera for that one!
Brrrr...it's getting chilly! Especially when you visit the 40 Below Experience...just layer up and enter the very COLD chamber. There is even an ice throne - pretty awesome!
You can also tour the Gold Dredge and all it's inner workings - great for those kids who love machines and the fun "how does that work" experiments the might like to do! And if you want to strike it rich too, then you can try your hand at gold panning. Kids will love the warm-water troughs, especially when they find out that gold is guarenteed!
You can spend some time strolling the historic displays in the grounds, or just relax and enjoy the surroundings. It is Alaska after all!

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Klondike Gold Fields?
The Gold Rush restaurant is where you can celebrate your gold finds! The Klondike buffet has great foods like BBQ meats, chicken, and side dishes. You can dine on the rooftop too if you like! There is also the Gold Shack with coffees, cookies, ice cream and popcorn!
Any top tips when visiting?
Dress in layers and bring your cameras! They do provide complimentary use of coats and umbrellas whilst there.
Does Klondike Gold Fields have a gift shop?
Our Gold Shack carries Alaskan souvenirs such as magnets, shirts, mugs, books, and other fun items. The Gold Parlor has a selection of fine jewelry and raw gold nuggets for those wanting something a little bit more special!
Teachers corner
There is much history to be learnt! An amazing place to kids to visit, as they educate on gold mining techniques, the role of sled dogs and weather, with the 40 Below experience.

Is Klondike Gold Fields fully accessible?
The entire site is wheelchair accessible. The Dredge is only accessible at the lower level, but a special guided tour is available upon request. The upper decks of the Gold Rush Restaurant and Brewery are only accessible by stairs, but the lower level porches are wheelchair accessible.
Restrooms are handicapped accessible at the Gift Shop and Gold Rush Restaurant.
