Here's a quiz! What was founded in 1898, was designated a National Historic Landmark, and has a mix of great traditional and modern rides and coasters? Kennywood of course!
Kennywood is one of the oldest, and most loved amusement parks in the entire country! For over 110 years this family friendly attraction has enthralled and excited families of all ages. They started out with those classic amusements such as the carousel, and then developed over the years to include wooden coasters, and then those popular steel looping ones!
What started as a trolley park turned into something much more, and fun fact - still contains two major buildings from 1898 - the Carousel pavilion and a restaurant. So you can have historic fun at the same time as the family fun!
"What about the attractions?" we hear you ask! There are certainly plenty to choose from! You can swing around and around with your legs dangling, or you can enjoy the classic 1921 Jack Rabbit coaster that has been a family favorite!
have you ever been 146 feet in the air with 40 others are you experience weightlessness? Just jump on the Black Widow then you will! From pirate ships, to swinging in harnesses, to adventures in the dark, if you love thrill rides you will certainly have plenty to choose from at Kennywood!
Kennywood isn't just for the super brave though! They have a host of fun family and kids rides perfect for all ages. From trains, cars, merry-go-rounds, to Noah's Ark, kids will have their own mini thrills with age appropriate rides.
We haven't started to tell you about the water rides! Perfect to cool off, you can take on rapids, plunges, and that iconic Log Jammer!
There is almost TOO much family fun to be had at Kennywood!
