Unfortunately, from the outside, this Museum is in such rough looking shape that it’s almost unwelcoming and foreboding. And it’s a shame because it’s such a GREAT experience. Vast amounts of information that is well presented with engaging interactive elements and easy to read displays, this museum is great for both the young and the old. Everything you’ll ever need to know about the history of Philly’s seaport.Make sure to visit the ships, they are in beautiful condition, and incredibly uncrowded. Unless it’s the submarine and you have more than four people in your party. Still, absolutely worth it.

I would not call visiting this place an experience but rather an adventure. I was particularly interested in the way the construction of the different boats was presented to the public – as something that has not only historic, but artistic value as well.
