My family goes to fossil rim 3-5 times a year . Plus we are season dallas zoo members . Dallas zoo members get half off your fossill rim admission. But when getting there this last weekend . I was purchasing tickets and tried to use my dallas zoo membership for a discount the manager said your dallas zoo card was for last year .. which I told her I’m a member so next time I come can I show her I’m a current member and get my discount which I deserve . She replies noooo , I could only use at time of purchase . Which makes no sense .. since I drive 2 hours to come and bring 5 cars full of people each time .. Another thing that irritated me is when you stop at the half way point for refreshments the people working the counter always ask if you want to donate the rest of your change to their wildlife business .. which I think is wrong on account of all the money they make per person., their giant souvenir shop and expensive cafe .. you shouldn’t ask for donations when your admission. Is already high .. and also when it’s a holiday or hot afternoon don’t go , it gets too crowded and animals get over fed so you’ll get to feed very few animals ..not my experiences have been good but beware of the big ugly rude manager and sometimes crowded park and over fed animals ..

This is the perfect day trip from Dallas. Leave in the morning, tour the park, and be home by evening. Fossil Rim really lets you feel like you are escaping the city, because you are. Huge areas with wandering wildlife and HILLS! Yep, right here in the flatlands of north Texas. Kids will love the giraffes (take a car with a sunroof if you have one). They are very gentle with soft mouths. The animals are well behaved, but the ostriches might snatch an entire bag of food out of your hand if you let them. We plan on spending the night there sometime this year. We’ve heard it’s a wonderful experience. If you’re a nature lover, Fossil Rim is a must see.

Great experience! A friend we went with says he’s been on a few other safaris one even in Africa, he says the landscape is near identical. Also the animals were not overfed like some places therefore the animals readily approach your vehicles. They are also very reasonable priced from the food to the souvenir shop.

AWesome!! We stayed over in Glen Rose and went to Fossil Rim right when it opened. It was amazing to say the least. The kids were able to get right up close to the animals which you never get to at a Zoo. The animals had plenty of room to roams and looked happy and healthy. We will be coming again soon!

Way over priced. Never saw animals. The line took forever. It was stupid. It was basically a parking lot. I saw a tree. Woop… Don’t waste your money.!
