Are you excited to explore a place where science, nature and fun make history?

The Fernbank Museum of Natural History is an amazing learning experience for kids, filled with things to do, things to see, and things you won't believe!

It's here you can travel around the world, and back in time, as you discover live animals, explore amazing places, uncover ancient fossils, unearth prehistoric cultures, and witness new science discoveries!

Your journey can start with the Giants of the Mesozoic, where a prehistoric battle of gigantic proportions unveils itself, filled the museum's Great Hall. Here, the badlands of Patagonia are reconstructed, where the largest dinosaurs in the WOLRD were found!

You can explore the natural history of Georgia, and the incredible geology, landscapes and wildlife found within the state, including even more dinosaurs, a cave, and a giant sloth!

Learn how people from around the world communicate as you see artifacts including costumes, footwear, headdresses and masks, and you can even explore how Native Americans adapted to changed in natural and cultural conditions via their pottery!

Need a break from the indoors? Check out the 75 acres of outdoor adventures at Wildwoods and Fernbank Forest (your admission includes these!)

The Fernbank NatureQuest is an interactive experience that turns kids into explorers, scientists and adventurers as they discover wonders of the natural world. There's also Dinosaur Plaza

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Fernbank Museum of Natural History?

Enjoy delicious deli-style sandwiches, soups, pizzas, kids' meals and more in the Fernbank Cafe! Open Monday through Friday 11am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday 10:30am to 4:30pm

Any top tips when visiting?

They have a number of family programs, so check out the list on the website or ask staff! These include animal encounters, storytime for preschoolers, learning how to forecast the weather and more!

Does Fernbank Museum of Natural History have a gift shop?

Take the museum experience home with you. Choose from more than 3,000 unique and educational gifts, from science kits to stuffed animals, jewelry to DVDs and everything dinosaur you can imagine!

Teachers corner

Science and the natural world come to life at Fernbank Museum as your students explore educational permanent and special exhibitions, experience films in the Giant Screen Theater, and engage in curriculum-based programs.
