About this activity

ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain is an innovative science and nature center found on Burlington Vermont's Waterfront.

Here, kids can be inspired and engaged as they experience the joy of scientific discovery, the wonders of nature, and the care of Lake Champlain!

It's here kids can learn ALL about those beautiful creatures that live under our waters, and it's here families can explore over 70 species - from the weird to the wonderful! The center is dedicated to teaching those who visit about the natural environment as part of their neighborhood, and allowing kids to explore!

All of the exhibits at ECHO offer a different learning experience, where kids can be engaged, have fun, and be inspired!

Kids can take a virtual trip down 120 miles of Lake Champlain, or explore sunsets over a year ago! They can even watch those adorable turtles in the viewing station. Cute!

Kids can explore what the area looked like back thousands of years ago, during the Ice Age, or touch a living sea star and see what it really feels like!

They can try their hand at eroding rocks, or even build their own mountain!

If you have little ones in the family, ECHO also have an exhibit JUST for those under 6 years old, where they can see how science can be fun through play! They can use science in open-ended scenarios, and explore activities that allow them to interact with all five senses.

So why not enjoy a day exploring the wonders of nature, and experiencing SO much more!

Those beautiful creatures are waiting to say hi - so let's go exploring!
