About this activity

Davey’s Locker Sportfishing and Whale Watching is located in the Historic Balboa Pavilion (built in 1905). Our office includes a full whale and marine life gift shop tailored strictly for children and their education of marine life. We offer whale watching trips year round between the months of October thru April are departure times are as follows: Monday to Friday 10am and 1pm Saturday and Sunday 9am, Noon and 2:30pm. Our departure times during the summer (May through September) we depart daily 9am, Noon and 3pm. We always recommend calling and making reservation, especially for a weekend date.

Davey’s Locker is located off the 55 South Freeway- this freeway turns into Newport Blvd- continue down this road until Newport Blvd turns into Balboa Blvd. Turn right onto Palm St and park in the Balboa Pier Municipal parking lot. Walk to Main St- then turn east (towards the Harbor) and we are located in the Historic Balboa Pavilion 400 Main Street.

We do have a microwave on board all our vessels.

Cash Bar on board- as well as snacks, candy, soda, water, hot dogs, nachos

A light jacket is always suggested to bring due to the weather being a bit cooler on the water. Sunglasses & sunscreen are also a plus. If you get motion sick, Bonine is the medication we recommend.

We have a full whale watching/ sportfishing gift shop available- marine life gifts, whale & dolphin gifts along with educational books for sale

We offer an education whale/ marine life packet to teachers where their packet is grade specific. There is also an in-class presentation available with a marine-biologist.

We do have a microwave on board all our vessels.

We cannot allow electric wheelchairs- although standard wheelchairs we do allow- we hoist the handicapped person onto the boat
