What is there to do?

Did you know that the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road is actually one of the country's official Scenic Byways?  In case you didn't know, that means that the Government thought this area was SO special, and SO pretty, it was put in a class with the other most beautiful areas in the country!  That's pretty amazing!

Coastal wetlands, stunning gulf beaches, idyllic fishing communities and wildlife refuges will become a part of your families educational, fun and nature filled day out.

The wetlands will not only expose the unique animals and birds that live in the area, but also the fascinating cultures of the people.  This are provides a large portion of the country's seafood, oil, and gas, so its a pretty important area for the country and for your family!

Not only will you enjoy your day walking and hiking the beautiful trails, but there are plenty of spots to relax as you catch some fish, collect those nipping crabs, enjoy a fresh dip in the cool waters or get your feet wet as you look for beautiful shells washed up on the beaches.

If you have some bird watchers in the family, be sure to visit between April and September (as well as late November through to February for the waterfowl)

If it is fishing that you love, then come on down all year round (that rhymes!), where you can just fish with your family, or book a tour with one of their experienced guides.

The wonderful thing about this area is that is changes so frequently, every time you come back to visit you will be guaranteed to have a new and just as fascinating experience.  They even hold fun festivals throughout the year so make sure you keep an eye out for those!

How much does it cost?

Need a little extra help?

You won't have any problems here! What did we say about Southern hospitably? The audio/video tour is available in close-captioning (as well as a number of languages), and most of the public facilities along the trail, including all the wildlife refuges, are handicap accessible.

Any top tips?

The whole trail is very much child-friendly, but in some parts some common sense is needed, so then your family will have a happy and safe experience!

I’m Hungry!

Its the south! Of course there are food options! For some of that good ol' Southern hospitality, there are plenty of places to enjoy mouthwatering treats as you make your way down the trail. Country stores, food delis, markets...they are all yours for the picking'!

Healthy Eating

A great healthy option and definitely plentiful along the Creole Nature Trail is boiled seafood. You know it will be fresh as they are always straight off the boat!
