About this activity

With a town such as Cody and all the history surrounding it from the Wild West days to Civil War battles, it's no surprise a museum like the Cody Dug Up Gun Museum exists!

At this incredibly museum that is just teeming with history you'll find over a thousand relic guns beautifull displayed, as well as weapons and accoutrements.

The collection at the Cody Dug Up Gun Museum covers a number of prominent time periods in history including The Gold Rush Era, as well as the US Civil War, and not surprisingly The Old West & Indian Wars.

Also at the Cody Dug Up Gun Museum you can see actual guns used in World War I, as well as the Roaring 20’s and through to World War II.

What is also great about the Cody Dug Up Gun Museum (apart from it being free admission!) is that it was created by a husband and wife team who had been personally collecting antique funs for 38 years and decided to share their collection with the world.

The Cody Dug Up Gun Museum impressively has many rare relic firearms including a Model 1860 Henry Rifles, and a Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army Revolvers. They even a Musket found embedded in a tree! Can you just imagine what story that holds behind it?

A fun and enjoyable - and incredibly educational - experience for the whole family in Cody!
