Who doesn't love cartoons? The Cartoon Art Museum is the ONLY museum in the western USA that is dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of cartoon art in all its forms! Sounds great to us!
This unique San Francisco museum over its lifetime has produced nearly 200 exhibits that focus on topics ranging from politics, to sports, to Latino culture and even children's literature. They have even produced more than 20 publications that celebrate and examine the diversity of cartoon art across animation, comics, graphic novels and more!
Over the years they have showcased exhibits from hundreds of incredible artists, including Dr Seuss, Kate Beaton, Dan DeCarlo and Chuck Jones.
Because the exhibits within the Cartoon Art Museum change, you can always go back and see new and unique artists and pieces of artwork. For those creative kids, or future artists in the family, it's an invaluable experience, because they can be exposed to so many types of art, and drawing, and techniques and colors.
The Cartoon Museum of Art also offer programs and classes where kids can actually LEARN to draw and understand the various styles - amazing!
It's time to get creative kids, because this family day out in San Francisco is ALL about cartoons, how fun is that?
