Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad offer fun and scenic train excursions from Belfast, Maine on weekends and holidays.
There are different types of train trips to choose from. The "regular" trains pass by beautiful woods, flowing streams and fields of the stunning Waldo County over the course of the hour long trip. Departs 11am and 2pm. Try and spot some wildlife from the window, too! What birds can you spot? Or perhaps little mammals scurrying on the ground?
Pizza? On a train? Why not! There are delicious Pizza Trains where you can enjoy - you guessed it - pizza as you also enjoy the view! Dates are limited so make sure you call ahead to confirm when these are.
First of all pizza, and now chocolate!? We're not kidding! There are Chocolate Express trains where old-fashioned candies and hand dipped chocolates, as well as gooey fudge will be available for you to keep those sweet teeth happy! Again, dates are limited so make sure you call ahead.
If you are heading to the Common Ground Country Fair, why not take the train!? Through September the trains fun all day, so get to the fair in style! Your ticket also includes entry to the fair.
Get your conductor cap on and your rumbling tummies ready! It's train time!

Those budding train conductors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
There are no Belfast train rides during the Common Ground County Fair weekend.
If you book the pizza train or the chocolate train you're in luck - you get pizza or chocolate!
Trains leave from City Point Station. on 13 Oak Hill Road in Belfast.
If you are traveling south on Rt 1 to Belfast, take the exit towards ME-4/ME-137. Turn left onto High St, and continue onto Oak Hill Road.
There is only an online gift shop, but you can still pick up some fun hats and shirts!
Unfortunately the experience is not wheelchair accessible at this time.
