Time to visit a museum that flies, and that museum is the Arkansas Air Museum in Fayetteville! If you have kids who just LOVE cars and planes, this museum might just be for them! Not only do they get to see some super cool and REAL historic automobiles and aircraft in person, but they can also learn about the fascinating history of their use in battles.
Throughout the exhibits you can follow the colorful history of aviation within the state through numerous displays filled with original artifacts and aviation memorabilia!
Kids can see world-famous racing planes of the 1920s and 1930s, and even an early airliner. They look pretty different to what you know now, we bet!
The historic aircraft in the Arkansas Air Museum are unusual among museum exhibits, because many of them still fly, which is pretty cool!
Static displays at the museum range from the golden age of aviation to the jet age, including Vietnam-era Army helicopers and a Navy carrier fighter.
The huge, all-wood white hangar houses the exhibits, and is actually part of American history, being former headquarters for one of the United States' many aviator training posts during World War II.
In fact, it's one of the few remaining 1940s-era aircraft hangars.
With so much history to surround yourself with, it really will feel like you are re-living the history books at the Arkansas Air Museum, where it comes to life in front of your very eyes.
