About Johnson Geo Centre

Johnson Geo Centre is one of Canada's most unique science centres and it'll interest everyone of all ages! Cut from the prehistoric rock of Signal Hill in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador, the Johnson GEO CENTRE takes you deep underground to experience the story of planet Earth.

Explore our planet's incredible history, get the real story behind the sinking of the Titanic, learn about volcanoes, earthquakes and natural forces shaping the ground beneath our feet, and much more. You'll need around 2-3 hours to visit the centre and make sure you speak to the staff as they'll give you lots of tips to help move through the centre quickly.

Visit the solar system in the reception hall as it hangs above! Planets are as high as two-storeys and it'll give you a great visual of what our solar system is really like. The Gardens of the Deep uncovers rarely seen corals and sponges and there's over 60 species of them in the Northwest Atlantic. Explore the habitats and the rarely seen creatives that live in the shores nearby. The Hibernia KidsPlace will allow the little ones to experience the wonder of planet Earth. There's hands on activities to inspire active minds whilst stretching your imaginations. Head through the time tunnel, examine fossils and climb into the oil rig, it's a sensory adventure!

So, come get to know this place a little better - we'll show you Earth from the inside, out!
