About Grenfell Historical Properties

The Grenfell Historic Properties celebrates the legacy of a great man, who once walked the shores of Northern Newfoundland & Labrador. Explore the Grenfell House Museum and Interpretation Centre which features many exhibits from the legacy of Dr. Wilfred Grenfell.

The museum was home to Dr Grenfell and his wife and it's seen lots of changes throughout it's history, with it once known as the castle with flower beds and vegetable gardens. Now it's taken over by wildflowers and attracts visitors all over the world. The Interpretation Centre opened in 1998, and interprets the life and times of Dr Grenfeel through panelling and displays.

The staff are very knowledgeable so make sure to ask them any questions you have. The centre is self-touring and is a modern experience for visitors. You'll get to watch a 14 minute video which is shown to all visitors to give an insight into the life and work of the Grenfeel mission.

If you fancy going outside, explore the Tea House Hill Trail. It's a 20 minute walk and offers the best views! There are panels across the way to learn more and walk the same route that Dr Grengell did! There's viewing platforms overlooking the harbour, ocean and country, just mae sure to wrap up warm as it's a little chilly at the top!
