A nature filled family day out AND a day of learning about how wonderful the environment is? That's exactly it at Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park! This great outdoor space is a place where kids can connect with nature, and learn about it. It is an environmental learning and discovery facility set in a fairly fragile environment, and also teaches kids to appreciate the Western Australian environment.
Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park has has been designed to retain as much of its natural bush setting as possible. It is a place where kids can explore, climb rocks and ropes, wade through creeks, build cubbies and get dirty: traditional kids' fun!
No computers or phones here!
Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park covers 60,000 square metres and incorporates a series of unique zones including hidden thickets, a creek, lookouts, a cubby building area, upside-down trees and a wetland. These areas are connected by meandering paths, boardwalks and bridges which offer a feeling of immersion in the bush.
A 7m high tree-hide towers over the wetland, while a smaller tree hide provides a less challenging climb for young visitors. Does that sound fun? That's because it IS fun!
The Tangle is a secluded and spooky zone of ‘upside-down trees’ which are connected by a web of climbing ropes. The ropes enable children to manoeuvre from tree to tree and can be adjusted to vary the level of challenge.
It's fun whilst embracing nature, and what an invaluable family day out that would be.
