Since 1965 millions of people have enjoyed discovering their motoring heritage at the National Motor Museum, Birdwood, South Australia. As an international centre for the collection, research, preservation, education and display of Australian road transport history, the National Motor Museum is much more than a collection of vehicles, it's a family journey through time!
With more than 150 toys on display, 'Model Behaviour' is an exhibition for big kids and small! From vintage pedal cars, right through to a Barbie Mobile Hot Tub Party Bus, the exhibition follows the story of the toy car and the people who collect them. The exhibition features a special Kids Space, which is well stocked with toy and model cars for kids under 5 years to play with.
The Sidney Crawford Gallery is popular particularly with small children, housing large commercial vehicles such as a road train, fire engines, street sweeper and tipper truck!
Plus the Holden Pavilion of Australian Motoring is a spectacular 3,700 square metre climate-controlled pavilion provides the setting for Australia’s most significant collection of historic commercial vehicles, cars and motorcycles as well as being a venue for changing interpretive exhibitions.
