Cattai National Park is a great place for all those nature loving families who want to get out the house, away from the television and enjoy a bit of nature. And why wouldn't you!? It's amazing!
The great thing about Cattai National Park, is that there are two areas within the park which can suit both styles of families.
The Cattai Farm area is alongside the mighty Hawkesbury River. This area is prefect if you are wanting a weekend camping trip, perhaps some canoeing on the lake, or enjoying those big family BBQs! There is plenty of space for kids to play games, ride bikes, and have a run around in. They need to work up those appetites for that big family BBQ!
History buffs in the family will love that this piece of land is an intact land grant given to a First Fleet settler - amazing! Make sure you stop and take in the historic sites within this area of the park!
For those families wanting something a bit more quiet and secluded, Mitchell Park is your cup of tea. It's perfect for that relaxing afternoon in the great outdoors. It's a great spot to do a bit of fishing on the banks - catch up on all the family news! Carp and bass are thriving in these waters.
If you fancy stretching your legs, there are 5km of walking tracks which will take you right through vegetation, including those fun scribbly gum trees! Do you know how all those marks are made?
It's location is very close to Sydney, which makes it a great place for a family day out, and also an overnighter. Why not take the kids on their first camping trip! What better place to do it in.
There's nothing like the great outdoors in Australia - breathe in that great country air!
