It's always fun when you find a pottery workshop to really get creative and get your hands messy, but at Australia's OLDEST pottery workshop, there is SO much more for the family to enjoy!
Bendigo Pottery was established way back in 1858, and is a great place for the creative families to visit!
There is so much to do, and we're excited to tell you all about it! First, how about we start with the Interpretive Museum?
At this museum, you can step back in time and learn all about the production, machinery, processes and working conditions of this famous Bendigo Pottery - right from it's beginnings in 1858 to right now!
Did you know that Bendigo Pottery has one of the most significant collections of historic wood fired kilns in the entire world? That's quite an impressive feat!
The museum is built around old kilns, and is filled with exhibits that show you the equipment used, and the pottery created through the years. There are even videos and soundscapes to really give you an insight.
Of course, it's a pottery workshop, so we want to get our hands dirty! During the school holidays, Bendigo Pottery offer a Clay Play area where kids can try some hand building or sculpting. No need to book, just pick up a Clay Play Kit and get started!
If you want to try and learn a new skill, why not take up a wheel throwing lesson! These are offers outside the holidays too, and you can even get your creation fired and glazed ready to take home! Perfect for kids over 6 years.
Decorating Workshops are available during weekdays during school holidays only, and here you can enjoy a 1 hour workshop on different techniques to really make your piece stand out!
We haven't even started on the numerous art galleries that you can explore!
Bendigo Pottery is certainly a great place to make the family go POTTY!
