Where are we going today?

The Golden Nugget Resort Pool has an INCREDIBLE pool, and if you haven't experienced it, you will want to soon!

The pool welcomes day guests, so it's worth taking the kids to check out what the pool has to offer. They describe it as an "escape to a multi-level aquatic oasis" - and oasis it is!

The pool is award-winning, and features not only a THREE storey water slide, but it's a slide that takes you through a 200,000 gallon shark tank. WHAT!?

You can get up close to these amazing sharks - five species in total - as well as a variety of exotic fish.

If you don't want to brave this slide that takes you right through the sharks, you can just go and check them out through the glass, which is fun for those younger kids. If your kids just love the sharks, you can get even closer to them with the Shark Tank Tours, where you can go behind the scenes and learn all about the sharks and fish from a Marine Biologist.

For a little more comfort, the Golden Nugget Resort Pool has cabanas and day beds that you can rent out for the day, which gives you a extra comfort, privacy and space! And of course, all those extras - because it's Vegas!

So why not cool off on your next family day out, and take the kids to a place so they realise that Vegas isn't just for the parents - it's for kids and sharks too!

Let's make a SPLASH!

I mean, look. You're on Fremont Street. The Golden Nugget isn't the Taj Mahal, and you should probably check Yelp to find somewhere else to eat (may I suggest Rachel's Kiitchen up the street), but it's clean, recently renovated, and has a pretty darn nice pool with a shark tank and waterslide going right through it. They'll skimp on the wifi, the water, even the coffee in the room -- but the two Starbucks in the lobby are extremely handy if you're kind of hungover and not willing to venture out into the downtown madness just yet.

The Golden Nugget is very clean, and extremely upscale in looks. As soon as you walk in, the chandelier overhead is a reassuring sign that they take pride in keeping things clean. Sadly this is where the Golden Nugget stopped being okay for me. I specifically went to the buffet on word from a friend and it was horrendous. The food selection is extremely small for a Las Vegas hotel, and the quality of the food was amazing for the Meats & Cheeses however the quality of the rest was sub-par. The food was over cooked or under cooked, and the salad...Read More

Had the worst Las Vegas experience ever! After checking in, we went to our room, there was luggage in it. So we haul our luggage back down to the front desk to get another room. Got a new room, haul our luggage back up and it also had luggage in it so we haul our luggage back down to the front desk and finally get a new room with no luggage. This should have been a clue not to gamble at the Nugget. The slots were so tight you couldn't even play for a couple minutes because they sucked all your money from you. Beers were $5 each, and the water...Read More

The food selection is extremely small for a Las Vegas hotel, and the quality of the food was amazing for the Meats & Cheeses however the quality of the rest was sub-par. The food was over cooked or under cooked, and the salad bars greens were quite badly wilted & browned. The plates are kept so hot, you cannot bare to hold on to them when you first pick them up and I am surprised we did not hear more people dropping these. Overall, if you are staying at the Golden Nugget I think you will be pleased at the looks and feel, but the main reason we went turned out to be a bad reason to go.

Beers were $5 each, and the water bottle in the hotel room was $4. If you want to use their coffee in their room, its $10, and we tried to use the hotel shampoo but it was empty! Did they just put the bottle back on the counter without checking it first? The rooms we not all that great. They did comp us a breakfast but the buffet was horrible and hardly any food. Do you call tater tots, hashbrowns? I will never stay here again nor will I recommend this to anyone.
