Quick, it's the curtain call...we don't want to miss the beginning of the play! Live theatre is SUCH a great experience, especially for kids. It's storytime, but with that added element of having the characters actually right in front of them!
South Carolina Children's Theatre always has a number of fun productions across the year, which are specifically geared towards those little thespians!
Kids can get lost in the world of the Invisible Dragon, or sit on the edge of their seats waiting for Sleeping Beauty to take. They can learn how to become a swashbuckling pirate, or they can eagerly await for Snow White to find her prince!
Being in a live theatre with a host of other excited children, with the atmosphere, the lights, and the actors is an amazing experience for them.
The South Carolina Children's Theatre has two stages, and the 2nd stage offers a more hands-on theatre experience for children and their families. It not only offers an amazing story-time, but also serves as a public forum for the theatre's social awareness program.
If your kids were inspired by what they saw, then they should head to the Tell Me A Story Theatre! It's a chance for those little tots to hear a story and act it out! No longer than 30 minutes, it's a super fun way for audience interaction, and perfect if they are a bit wiggly and need to let out that energy!
For those slightly older, between K3 and 5th, Timbre Tales is offered free of charge, and kids can watch a character performance from their favorite children's book, and is another great way for speech and movement interaction from the audience!
Head stage left...no stage right...no left....best you just head to South Carolina Children's Theatre for theatre fun!
