Where are we going today?
Do you ever look at the very cool animals and plants around you, and wonder how they live, what they eat, where they came from? Well, the New Britain Youth Museum can answer all your questions!
The whole family will enjoy the various exciting and interesting exhibitions they hold at the museum, from natural history collections, plants, and even live animals!
There are great trails that you can enjoy - how many species of wildlife can you spot!? There is a really fun puppet theatre, a super cool "Bears Den" slide, and an old fashioned ice cream parlor (but the ice cream is freshly made - and very much new and delicious!)
Keep an eye out for all the fun programs that they hold over summer. There is Farm Fun - where you can get hands on with all the sweet animals that you can find in the farm (can you name some?). You can get all messy in the kitchen with Cooking Creations, and uncover some of the cool and crazy creatures around you with Connecticut Critters! There are also special programs on habitats, insects, water creatures and pets.
If you have a great time and think your friends would too, then the museum is a great place to hold your birthday party! Late Fridays and Saturdays are available for you and your friends, where you can all participate in a fun and nature filled trail walk, or a really cool animals program.
How much does it cost?
- Free Under: 2
When can we go?

There are a variety of classes available for many grade levels. There are no fees for New Britain Public School Groups so no excuse to grab your students and get them into nature to learn first hand. The courses can be amended to suit your classes needs. .
