Where are we going today?

The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park comprises educational resource buildings, historic flotilla and beach.

You can pick up a free Junior Ranger Program activity booklet at the visitor centre suitable for 5 to 12 year olds to help keep them engaged, and the centre itself has some fascinating displays on the area's martime heritage.

Out by the pier you can view the park's collection of floating historic ships and get some great views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

There are numerous ranger led tours both around the park and on several of the boats, plus activities and events held. The beach at aquatic cove is nicely sandy.

The concrete pier is crumbling and a lot of it is closed off. The parts that aren't are made filthy by the homeless

The ride itself was great and definitely worth 10 dollars up and back. This gives you a great view of the city and an oppertunity to take a lot of photos. Unfortunately, the people working the street car are extremely rude. The guy on the way back was contantly yelling at people and calling them "tourists". There is no need for that. As if that wasn't bad enough I was literally shoved in the back twice by the driver. Instead of telling me to move when I accidentally moved in his way he shoved me hard in the back while yelling at me. Then he pushed...Read More

As if that wasn't bad enough I was literally shoved in the back twice by the driver. Instead of telling me to move when I accidentally moved in his way he shoved me hard in the back while yelling at me. Then he pushed me again to remind me not to get in his way. Its a shame this had to happen because I was really enjoying the ride up to this point. I still recommend this tour, but ride at your own risk, because there are some unnecessarily rude people that work for this company.
