Where are we going today?
Visitors will travel back in time, experiencing an ecosystem of an ancient world filled with tapirs, alligators, rhinos, camels, shovel-tusked elephants, saber-toothed cat, and even red pandas! Filled with interactive exhibits, a dig pit and touch-screen computer games, there is something for people of all ages to enjoy while learning about the prehistoric past of this region.
Smaller children particularly will enjoy the Discovery Carts where they can touch and handle some of the artifacts.
They also have a varying exhibition space with a continuing theme of fun education aimed at children, plus regular seasonal events and activities.
Walk-in visitors experience a self-guided tour of the museum. Guided tours offered when staffing is available.

The museum offers many opportunities to learn about the Gray Fossil Site at the museum, in school, and at home for people of all ages.
Plan a visit with your students, volunteer in the lab, attend one of their patch programs, come to summer camp, or listen to a talk by a paleontologist. Learn more about their research and collections. Explore the exhibits and get up close to the dig site on a guided tour.
Since the museum opened, Education has been a central part of the museum’s mission and vision. They invite you to explore the many ways you, your family, and your students can learn and have fun at the Gray Fossil Site!.
The Fossil Fuel Cafe is open 11am to 2pm from Wednesday to Saturday, offering hot and cold drinks and snacks..
