Where are we going today?

Cameron Park is best known for the zoo sited within it, but there are actually a lot of great family activities in the park itself for before or after.

There are 3 separate playgrounds with really diverse features, and the Pecan Bottoms site also offers an interactive splash pad during summer months.

A 23 hole disc golf course is also provided, being a cross between regular golf and frisbee, with a second course available nearby in Brazos Park East, just the other side of the river.

Plus the paddling trails are open to the public for canoeing, general non power boating and fishing if a licence is held.

Delightfully wild and nicely tucked away near Cameron Park. The Cameron Park Zoo is a little gem in little ole' Waco. Located right next to the park the zoo surprisingly hosts several wild and exotic animals, and even has an impressive aquarium section. Although it is smaller in comparison to larger city zoos Cameron Park Zoo makes up for it in aesthetics and layout. The zoo is small, but what they have is really nice. They have a good selection of animals. The area is always clean. It has never been crowded when I went and always made for a good time.

Recently, visited the zoo. Kids really enjoyed their selves. Great park to play at within the zoo. Would revisit the zoo on future trips. However, some people should be aware of a couple of things. First, I asked if there was any sugar free items on the menu regarding their ice- cream or snow cones. Unfortunately, there was none. Not good!
Also, the buzzards have taken over several exhibits.

Although it is smaller in comparison to larger city zoos Cameron Park Zoo makes up for it in aesthetics and layout. Overall, If you're passing by or staying in Waco this zoo is worth a visit if you can afford the time, and if you love zoos this is a must visit. Prices are $9 for adults, $6 for children, ages 3 & under free (super inexpensive!).

Side note: you're gonna enjoy this sweet little zoo.
