Things to do in Oakland, CA with kids

To those new to Oakland, it may seem at first that this Californian city is more geared towards adults than kids.

To those who know Oakland, they know that there is a plethora of kids fun just waiting to be explored. You just have to know what the locals know! (That’s where we come in!)

Ever think fairies would be an option in your day? We wouldn’t expect anything less! Fairyland is a staple for local families. Fun packed rides in a storybook setting - a truly magical place for kids! What kid doesn’t love a good zoo!

Oakland Zoo won’t disappoint, and hasn’t for the many families that have visited over the years.  (Your family can even spend a night there!)

Think you need to be in New York for the arts? Nope! Did you know Oakland has it’s own Museum of Children’s Art? But here, they can actually MAKE the art too! Think you need to be in Florida for space fun? Of course not!

Oakland has the Chabot Space and Science Center for all those kids fascinated by astronomy. Need a break from the city? Head to Redwood Regional Park for some respite only a stones throw away!

You will leave this fun California favorite realizing there is often more to a city than meets the eye!
