Did you know that your day out in Chehaw is not just a day out in an amazing park? In fact, you get to spend the day around amazing animals from all over the world too!
Founded close to 80 years ago, Chehaw Park is 700 acres of pristine conservation land as well as a wild animal park. It’s a unique South Georgia attraction and is great for kids of all ages!
Chehaw is devoted to three areas - conservation, preservation, and education. This gives kids not only an amazing day out of adventure and wildlife but also an invaluable learning experience too. From the Wild Animal Park to the endless recreational opportunities, Chehaw has an activity for every visitor, so let's go and see what nature’s playground has to offer you!
Chehaw Wild Animal Park features a host of natural habitat exhibits that you can explore throughout the day, with native and exotic animals. Visitors can stroll the scenic boardwalks which will take you through the cypress swamps and see many animal exhibits that feature creatures from all over the world. You can find yourself coming face to face with African Black Rhino, American Bald Eagles, Free Ranging Lemurs, Cheetah, Zebra, and many more!
Make sure you also head to the Children's Farm close by, where kids can enjoy time with Miniature Horses, Alpacas, Pigs, and Goats, just to name a few, then enjoy special programs at the Amphitheater and tour the Reptile and Small Animal House!
If you want to just hang out in the park, you can enjoy the children’s play park, picnic areas, BMX track, Disc Golf course, stocked catfish pond, nature trails, boat dock on Lake Chehaw, Mountain Bike Trail, and camping area.
