Did you know that Zion National Park was Utah's FIRST National Park? Well, now you do! It's an amazing part of the state, and one filled with history and awe. There is so much for the family to do in this piece of natural wonder.
You can follow the paths of where the pioneers and ancient native tribes once walked. You can take in the massive and very impressive sandstone cliffs - can you see all the colors that appear in them? There is often red, pink and cream which blend together and look AMAZING against that bright blue backdrop (we're talking about the sky of course!)
The national park also has an incredible array of plants and animals that are just waiting to be encountered, and learnt from. It's a great way for kids to learn history, geology, and biology!
Are you ready to hear all about the amazing adventures you can have at Zion National Park? Here goes - we hope you're feeing active! There are great trails and campsites for those wanting to use their feet and backpack, and of course hiking trails for the beginners to those most advanced. If wheels are more your thing, there are cycling trails and scenic drives which are accessible to bikes.
Love birds? Great! There are over 207 species of birds for you to cross off your checklist - how many do you think you'll spot! Because of the great rock formations, climbing is also a popular activity at the park - if you want to climb overnight you can get a permit for that.
From March to October, guided horseback riding tours are available, as well as ranger-led activities. Great for the kids for when they have lots of those questions! Canyoneering and river adventures are also options in this amazing park.
We told you there were great adventures to be had - which one will you do first!
